We can FEEL a lot of things, but that does not make them FACTS.
.
Feeling like some one purposefully did us wrong doesn’t mean they held the intention to do us wrong.
.
Feeling like we will never be able to achieve the results we want doesn’t make it so.
.
Our feelings can often over burden our ability to decipher the facts clearly. This keeps us from taking the right action.
.
What if we set the feelings aside and looked at the facts. Sometimes hard, but oh so worth it!
.
Do we have undeniable evidence that someone was trying to do us wrong? If we don’t then how does that change how we feel?
.
What if we learn they were not intending to do us wrong? Are we still as hurt? Are we still as angry?
Most of the time their actions are a result of how they feel, nothing to do with us.
.
Do we have undeniable evidence that we will never achieve the results we want? Absolutely NOT, nobody can predict that. So what do we feel like if we drop that story that is in fact false?
Are we still as deflated? Are we still frustrated?
.
So much of what we feel impacts our actions and a lot (not all), but a lot of what we feel isn’t factual.
.
That doesn’t mean our feelings don’t matter, they do and we should work on finding out why we have the tendency to create these feelings for ourselves when they aren’t based in facts.
.
Some people call it self sabotage.
Some people call it sub conscious driven behavior
.
The point is we don’t know what we don’t know.
.
Why would we want to create hurtful feelings for ourselves unnecessarily? Mostly because we’ve interpreted somebody’s actions toward us as our fault. Hurt people, hurt people.
.
Most people are acting with the best tools they have and a lot of people have pretty crappy tools. They don’t abandon us intentionally. They don’t set out to make our lives harder. They set out to make their own lives harder and that makes ours harder by default.
.
Chances are it’s not our fault, but it doesn’t make it any less painful if we don’t focus on the facts.
.
Feelings are good, but we should learn how to decipher our feelings from facts because our feelings can take over our actions and leave us with results we don’t want.
