It’s not the Grapes
“One afternoon a fox was walking through the forest and spotted a bunch of grapes hanging from over a lofty branch.🍇🍇
“Just the thing to quench my thirst,” he thought.
Taking a few steps back, the fox jumped and just missed the hanging grapes. Again the fox took a few paces back and tried to reach them but still failed.
Finally, giving up, the fox turned up his nose and said, “They’re probably sour anyway,” and proceeded to walk away”. -author unknown
Moral of the story:
It’s easy to despise what you think you can’t have
What does it do to us when we think we can’t have the health we want? The peace we want? The fulfillment we want? The safety we want? Do we sour to those we think have it? Do we resist them because we believe those things are not available to us?
If all we know is a lifetime of struggle with a perspective of being victimized, then that becomes our home. For many people it’s all they know. It’s only when we realize those thoughts are what keeps us there that we discover that the possibilities for the human spirit are endless. ❤️
